Day 4: President, Barton Manor and Sword Fights

Once upon a time... I dreamt of an island where a gentle violinist graces the ears of her fellow man with the sounds of beauty springing from her talented fingers, her notes flowing through the air reaching the ear of souls being refreshed, a land where Presidents are all under the age of 21, where bees are reminders of the Beatitudes, a land in which Robin Hood, brave and noble defender, defeats the Black Giant to save his lady's fair! Tis Day 4, at the Isle O'Pines.

Teaching the littles how to play president, they love playing it with each other now!

So pretty Amanda! It was so nice to hear her beautiful violin notes wafting through the air.

Playing president outside...I think it was our most frequently played camp game :)

President and vice president-the world is well ruled. :)

I just think this an adorable picture!

Picking the garlic tops off at the Barton's house, picking the garlic tops makes the bulbs grow in stronger.

 I love their beehives!
The BEE-attitudes:
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:2-13

Amanda is preparing to smoke the bees so she can put another box on the bee hive.

Starting the smoke going with pine needles

Smoking the bees,
Amanda explained to us that when a bee stings someone it has to flip it's back end over to sting, but the smoke puts them into panic mode because they think their hive is on fire so they fill themselves up with as much honey as they can but they end up with so much with honey that their too full to flip themselves over, they get a "Oh, I ate too much" kind of feeling...(ask Amanda for the rest)

Bees won't sting unless they feel threatened, that's why Beth and Samuel aren't completely covered like Amanda is.

The little kids relaxing on the swing

Back home Mom and the kids went swimming to cool off from the 100 degree day, yep it was in the 100 degrees. We got quite a few 100 degree days while we were there.

Hot Momma :)

While we were at the Barton's house the kids found a bag of play clothes and Beth said they could take it back to the camp!

Chariti looked so cute wearing that cape and hat!

Maid Marian caught as she runs through the forest! Running to cheer on her brave defender Robin Hood, Seth!

Samuel gave Seth such a treat and sword fought with him!

Awww, Seth looks so small and cute!

Just look at the excitement on my boys face! He wouldn't back down either, he poked Samuel right in the stomach, and kept going forward! With every stroke he would advance toward Samuel who backed up to give Seth the advantage.

"Oh Robin Hood!" The girls cheered their men on!

♪♫♪"Robin Hood, Robin Hood, running through the glen!" ♫♪♫

The fair maidens rowing peaceably on the lake!
The scenery makes it look like they just stepped out of the medieval times...only I don't think they had aluminum canoes back then...

And we ended the night with Skip-Bo! Mom's favorite game! (Because she always wins)

Come back soon to see Day 5!
