Thanksgiving 2011

This year we had so much to be thankful for! God had proved His sovereignty and faithfulness beyond the shadow of a doubt, we can say with Job,
"I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin has been destroyed,
yet in my flesh I will see God;
I myself will see him
with my own eyes—I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!"
~Job 19:25-27~
and that's always something to be immensely thankful for! :)

~Thanksgiving Preparation~

Momma and Hannah cleaning out the turkey

Chariti's hollowing out the mushrooms to make stuffed mushrooms

Sethyboy is peeling garlic, this is the makings of a real Portuguese dinner!

Hannah is one brave girl, she is not afraid to get her hands dirty!

Hannah's skinning the turkey

Here Seth!

Chariti was in charge of making the stuffing

Felicity's job was the apple pie

Cooking, stirring, frying, washing, it's Thanksgiving!

Tabitha was in charge of the stuffed mushrooms

Hannah's de-stressing from prepping the turkey!

If Hannah does it so does Sethyboy! lol

Our beautiful hostess :)

~ Thanksgiving Day! ~

mmmmm, Portuguese prepared turkey!

Charitit's finishing off the stuffing,
"The hands are one of the most useful cooking tools in the kitchen." or so said some famous tv chef :)

Roasted turkey on a turkey platter

Stephanie's lighting the candles

Felicity,
it looks like she's lighting the candles but she's actually melting a crayon onto an envelope to make a wax seal. I remember doing that when I was little and how cool I thought it was!
I do still think it's cool...

♥ Momma and Hannah ♥

Thanksgiving lunch has come!

"Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates." ~ Proverbs 31:31

The whole family!

Felicity and Chariti tried videotaping this year!
The're going to love watching the videos they took when they get older!

Exhausted!
Looking at black Friday deals before we head over to Dad's parents house and eat more delicious Portuguese food!

Grandparents House...
Stephanie was cleaning up...

This house isn't used to little people anymore!

Felicity and Chariti engage in a game of Battleship

 I asked Vavoo if I could play his mandolin and he was delighted to teach me how to!
I think I was caught off guard in this picture!

And now over to my uncle Mario's house...
Vavoa and Vavoo Oliver are early to bed kind of people so we went and celebrated the rest of Thanksgiving at T-Io's house! I love seeing my little cousins! This little guy is Tyler!

Stop taking pictures of me! (said while he's laughing) :)

Tyler and Daddy, not sure why but Tyler just decided to make a lion face or a bear...I can't remember :)

Logenne , what a sweet boy! He's a Momma's boy!

Cheesh!
I love these little guys eyes!

Dan is a friend of my aunt and Louie is a friend of my uncle.

My Mom, Auntie Maggie, and Auntie Flo
T-Maggie is Mom's sister.

This is Flo's husband, my Mom's brother the unforgettable T-Jeff!

T-Al the oldest brother of Mom's siblings.

So, in this blog post you've seen all of Mom's brothers and sisters except the youngest, Auntie Kimmy! She lives in Texas, much too far away :( You can see pictures of her, as well as my uncle and little cousin  here: Uncle Travis, Auntie Kimmy and Mason Come to Visit!

We missed you Auntie Kimmy, Uncle Travis and Mason!

~~~~~~
So that was our Thanksgiving, much quieter than usual (we usually have all of our Mom and Dad's family over our house) but it was still very nice. This Thanksgiving was certainly one of rejoicing. We were able to look back and stand amazed at how the Lord has manifested Himself in our life, we know that He's real, that He's our Redeemer and that He is perfectly worthy of our absolute confidence and trust, He's completely Sovereign and faithful!  All cares and worries can be left with out Heavenly Father, He knows our need before it's asked and will work all things out for the good of those who love Him! Oh to love Him more! To love Him as He deserves to be loved! It's one thing to just read about these truths in Scripture and it's another to actually experience them so that you understand them! That's one of the biggest Thanksgivings for this year from our family, that He has made Himself known to us and Lord willing, will continue to do so!
 Happy Thanksgiving!
