Here's a beautiful hymn that we have been practicing:
1. Blest the man that fears Jehovah, walking ever in his ways;
by your toil you shall be prospered and be happy all your days.
2. In your wife you shall have gladness, she shall fill your home with good,
happy in her loving service and the joys of motherhood.
3. Joyful children, sons and daughters, shall about your table meet,
olive plants, in strength and beauty, full of hope and promise sweet.
4. Lo, on him that fears Jehovah shall this blessedness attend,
for Jehovah out of Zion shall to you his blessing send.
5. You shall see God's kingdom prosper all your days, till life shall cease,
you shall see your children's children; on your peoples, Lord, be peace.

Amazing Grace - The History & Theology of Calvinism
What we're studying...
"The old truth that Calvin preached, that Augustine preached, that Paul preached, is the truth that I must preach to-day, or else be false to my conscience and my God. I cannot shape the truth; I know of no such thing as paring off the rough edges of a doctrine. John Knox's gospel is my gospel. That which thundered through Scotland must thunder through England again."—C. H. Spurgeon

Charity and Its Fruits (Hardcover) :: Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) :: Classic Authors :: Monergism Books :: Reformed Books - Discount Prices - Free Shipping
We are reading through this book, one of the best books we have ever read and most challenging!
“Instead of being a maudlin, romantic wedding recitation, Edwards’ treatment of 1 Corinthians 13 becomes one of the most demanding and humbling pieces on divine revelation we may ever encounter. Under Edwards’ scrutiny, our failure to live the love we’re called to is so clear that we are driven once more to cling to the cross.” - From the new introduction by R.C. Sproul

What We're Reading...
The first time I read this one was almost 10 years ago to my older girls. We just finished reading it again, they were able to understand it this time :) and my little ones enjoyed it as well. This book inspired me to keep a garden and gave me a love for flowers, roses in particular. The father draws lessons from the flowers he cultivates and so he cultivates a love for the Savior in his daughter which enables her to persevere through many trials. Definitely a must buy! We have about 20 Lamplighters and this is my absolute favorite! I think "Hedge of Thorns" is 2nd. If you don't have much interest in flowers, you will when your done with this book! :)

The Basket of Flowers is part of the Fireside Collection and the Von Schmid Collection.
This first book of the Lamplighter Rare Collector Series continues to be a best-seller. James, the king's gardener, teaches his 15-year-old daughter Mary all the principles of godliness through his flowers. She is falsely accused of stealing, and the penalty is death. Mary remembers her father had taught her: that it is better to die for the truth than to live for a lie, and that the worst pillow to sleep on is the pillow of a guilty conscience! This story will change your life forever!
"I am giving The Basket of Flowers to my grandchildren. I have no doubt they will devour it." -Elisabeth Elliot
