Memorial Day 2012 at the Brown's!!!

 Hello to our faithful follower...s... (you know who you are ;)
Sometimes, about once a year, the writers in our family come to the point in blogging where the creative brain cells run dry, blogging motivation and energy burns out and sleeping just takes precedence over blogging.That's the point we came to last May. But after enjoying a great summer, we're back! Revitalized, sunburnt, and armed with a whole slew of pictures, we're ready to go again! :D
~~~~~~
 Our first post in catching up is Memorial Day in North Carolina! Back in May, Stephanie and I were blessed with an opportunity to travel down to NC with the Hebert's and Fitzgerald's to celebrate Memorial Day at the Brown farm! We had been interested in attending ever since various families from church came back with glowing reports of how amazing it is. After experiencing it, I have to say I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate Memorial Day!
 The Kasiser's kindly opened their home for our party of 19 to sleep over so we could leave at about 5am the next morning. Well Stephanie hadn't been able to get her eyebrows threaded so she asked Ashely to try her hand at waxing! That was the most fun eyebrow cleanup time ever!  Ashley was so afraid that Stephanie was going to end up with no eyebrows! lol She did a good job though! :D
 One of the things we so appreciate about the Kaisers is that we never leave without reading scripture and/or praying. That's something I'm going to do in my family when I'm married!
 Elizabeth, Rebekah and Christine!
 Jonathan, Samuel, Josh, and James
 Grandma, one of the Hebert twins(sorry, I can't tell which is which yet), Mrs. Kaiser and Ashley
 Momma makes everything fun!
 Mr. Kaiser leading us in the singing
  Potchie, Potchie!
Just in case any of us girls get out of hand, Mrs. Hebert had all of the Mother's full permission for the fulfillment of any and all disciplinary actions necessary ;)
 But of course they weren't necessary. : D
Stephanie took her turn at driving
 Lizzy and Gracie
 Once we arrived, the Hillmans had dinner prepared for us so we ate and sat outside, enjoyed each other's company and the beautiful NC weather.
Grammy, Anna and Laura
Sweet Ashley
Stephanie and her 'buddy ol' pal' adorable little Annah Joy, she dressed herself that day ;)
She wanted to sit on both of our laps, and she found a way! :)
Josh, Mrs. Hillman and Mrs. Hebert sang for a little while out on the porch, the Heberts and Hillmans have beautiful voices!
Abigail Hillman has such a graceful way of playing piano
Mr. Hillman and Mr. Hebert were texting back and forth having fun with each other, so Mr. Hillman set up this picture to send to Mr. Hebert to show him what Mr. Hebert is missing out on! Lol!
Lol!
The wives and Abigail loved the picture!
These ladies are so much fun! They could brighten up anyone's day!
Once we arrived back at the Hillman's, the girls grouped together and made lunch. With this many girls in the house the meals came together rather quickly! Many hands made light work!
Rachel and Gracie frying the gluten free wraps
Ashley and Abigail rolling up our gluten free tacos! This was the first time we had gluten free meals!
 Mrs. Hebert had the Rich, Charming and Wild cards
After lunch we sat down for a game of Apple-to-Apples, it was quite humorous to see how for some of us, our cards matched our personalities! Lol!
This group of ladies made it so much fun to play!
Rebekah's said Annoying, Powerful and Young, Lol!
Wow Madeline! You've got quite some talented hair there!
Stephanie's got the grill covered!
The Heberts played a trick on Gracie! lol
Mrs. Fitzgerald spending some quality time with Anna. We were so blessed to see how gentle Mrs. Fitzgerald is with her children.
Sun AM
 Sunday morning, we went to Hope Baptist Church. The sermon was on singleness (how to tell if you've been given the gift of singleness etc...) You can listen to the sermon here if you'd like: Singleness and Childlikeness  by Scott Brown
On the way home we younger ladies decided that we had not been given the gift of singleness. lol :)
 For lunch we had some fun and delightful discussion with:
Lizzy, Ashley, Liberty, Stephanie and Rachel
Dear ladies, the whole lot of them :)
 I thoroughly enjoyed a beneficial conversation with Hope.You ladies are such an encouragement!
 We Mello's just have to get a picture of every insignificant little detail ;)
 Sunday evening in NC Hope Baptist has SLBC (Second London Baptist Confession) night at the Horns. Mr. Horn reads a sentence or so from the confession and then opens it up for anyone to discuss and ask questions. It was a pleasure to be a part of it!
 After the discussion time we talked with the Fitzgerald girls and Grammy about our beliefs regarding courtship, dating, prep for marriage etc. It was a great discussion!
Grammy had a lot of questions for us!
 :)
 Joel's describing something...
I still think your a bit of an extrovert....just look at how those hands come out when your telling a story and describing.... You can almost hear the words, "it was about, that tall".... ;)
