Homeschooling

The Joys of Homeschooling!
Homeschooling is transportable and adaptable to any environment!

What better place could there possibly be to do schoolwork, than in the barn loft?

Mello statistics show that studying in an outdoor environment which holds special significance to the student, enhances motivation to apply oneself to ones schoolowork and  creates greater appreciation for all things grammar and spelling related. lol

Mello statistics also show that little brothers will show a considerable increase of speed in completing his assignments once he is informed of an opportunity to join the band of rustic students in the loft.

The proof is in the pudding...er...blog post pictures....
See, it works all around! Try out your homeschooling special environment today!

Helping Michael

Dear Friends of ours, Micheal and Rebekah Thomas, joined the rest of the Thomas family and moved out to Missouri, (we miss them all so much!). Due to Rebekah being pregnant she was unable to do some of the necessary paint jobs, so Stephanie and Tabitha went over their house to help paint various rooms and to enjoy some good quality time with Melanie, while she was here visiting and blessing Michael and Rebekah with her willing hands ready to do whatever had to be done!
The M Thomases... Or Them Thomases

Tabitha playing with Henry and Jack, we just love those little guys!

Such an adorable little man! Those eyes just melt my heart!

This little man is such cheerful extrovert! Always with a sweet smile on his face and so friendly!

Awwww ♥
So precious

Stopping for a lunch break
Working together presented a wonderful opportunity to have some great discussion!
We learned so much from Melanie that day and were very encouraged by her various perspectives on the subjects we discussed.
Christian fellowship is truly a blessing from the Lord,  in the words of J. Hampton Keathley III,
"Since God is within Himself a fellowship, it means that His moral creatures who are made in His image find fullness of life only within a fellowship. This is reflected in marriage, in the home, in society and above all in the church whose koinonia is built upon the fellowship of the three Persons. Christian fellowship is, therefore, the divinest thing on the earth, the earthly counterpart of the divine life, as Christ indeed prayed for his followers: "That they may all be one; even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us" (John 17:21)."

"Here, let me hold very still so that you can take a picture without it coming out blurry" lol
Painting into the night

We finished up at about 7ish and then Michael came home from work!

Mmmmm, doesn't that smell something wonderful!

*Smile for a quick picture*
Melaine had just sold the table earlier that day so we had a picnic!

Now back to our fascinating discussion about all the interesting things happening around us, courtships, new babies, people moving away, the winds of change are in the air!

Melanie and Michael presented some great insight!

It was a great blessing to talk with Melanie that day! Although it did cause us to miss her all the more! So looking forwards to the next time we get to see them all! We have really missed Michael, Rebekah and the two little guys as well, they've left an un-fillable void in our church fellowship. :(
The sadness of parting will only make the fellowship sweeter though next time we meet again!
Lord bless you Michael and Rebekah, as you follow the Lord's will in Missouri!

And This Is How We Hunt Our Deer

Once upon a time Dad had just left home and was driving on the road right off of our street. About five minutes later he returned and exclaimed to us, "I just saw a beautiful buck! It was gorgeous!" And then he left again, only to return a second time, ten minutes later with another tale to tell. "You know that buck I just saw? It just rammed into me!" It jumped out of the woods right in front of him! Dad tried to swerve and thus the buck hit him on the side of the car rather than in the front. You can see the damage done in the pictures below. As our family doesn't have hunting licenses and have never been hunting, this was the first time our family got a deer!

Dad was just going to leave it in the woods but Stephanie said that with this much damage the deer must have received its fatal wounds, she encouraged Dad to bring it back home so we could skin it! Dad thought it was a great idea! Thus began our first experience of skinning a deer with the help of a very good friend!

The deceased

Our prize winning buck, he had 9 points on his crown!

Seth rallied up enough courage to touch one of the deer's points.

Ooops! Just took out the fence! lol Good thing it was on its way out anyway. ;)

Seth keeping at a safe distance from all things gutty related.

Dad was very proud of his catch! lol

Chariti, she's a brave one
There ya'go! Ride him like a horse!

By the end of the day, Seth's manly courage rose to the challenge and he was excited to help out and pose with the deer!

Taking down the meat to cut it up and store it in the freezer! Well that was fun!
So that's the story of our family's first deer skinning, gutting etc. It was a great experience!

"But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation;
I will sing to the Lord because
He has dealt bountifully with me."

Friendships...

We hadn't seen Mrs. Yokel in a long time so we decided to have her over for a little tea party and catch up on what has been happening in each other's lives.

Mrs. Yokel loves her Stephanie!

Having tea...what precious memories this brings back!

We enjoyed a precious time with Mrs. Yokel! It was so good to see her again and discuss how the Lord is manifesting Himself in each other's lives.

The two precious Mothers

Momma and Tayla

We ended the night very nicely around the campfire and ended up discussing a myriad of topics concluding, on the grace of God and how it protects some, from worldly influences, like those of us who have been given the blessing of being raised in Christian homes (Luke 12:48b), and how the Lord in His Sovereignty allows others to be raised in unbelieving homes and come to the faith later in life with more scars than the rest of us have, though both parties are equally depraved in nature and it is not in accordance with anything they have done to deserve either circumstance. Yet the Lord in His sovereignty places the first in the one circumstance and the second in the second circumstance.
"Scripture's denial that our best works are sufficient in themselves to please God or to compensate for our weaknesses makes our spiritual desperation more acute and, thus, our appreciation of grace becomes more emphatic. Overwhelming gratitude for the spiritual deliverance our Savior alone provides will engender a humble and glad willingness to dedicate the strength of our lives to our Savior's glory." Bryan Chapell

Mark pulled out his guitar and we ended the night with singing
Thank you to the Eckersons for hosting the church! Sitting around the warm, cozy fire in the coolness of an autumn evening was so pleasant!
We love you Eckerson family!
